Let’s face it–it’s winter. It’s cold outside and, in some places, it’s even freezing. But there is some good news if you don’t like the cold: IT’S SOUP TIME!!!
That’s right folks–nothing warms the cockles of one’s heart more than a nice big bowl of soup. Earlier this week, I tried the Sadaf Soup Mix and it was delicious. To use this product all you need to do is add 5 cups of chicken broth (or 5 cups of water and some chicken soup base), bring to a boil, cover and let simmer for 45-60 minutes.
The lentils, barley and rice create a pleasant and hearty texture for this soup. Try adding cooked chicken, beef or sausage to make this soup more substantial. Don’t forget soup is an easy way to sneak in some of those vegetables that the children or husband won’t usually eat (not to mention soup is healthy and low in fat).
With a salad or a piece of lavash for dipping, this soup is a meal unto itself. So next time you consider opening a can of soup to feed your family, remember that nothing is better than homemade — so get some Sadaf Soup Mix today!
